Sunsets and Time

You know what has been on my mind?  Sunsets.  Honestly, it is a pleasure every day to see the sunset.  In my commitment to walk 45 minutes a day, I have taken a picture of a sunset and realized the day is done.  Time is marching on!  Gone!

Each sunset is different and oh, so beautiful!  These pictures are each on different days.

This last picture of the moon was taken 31 minutes after the last sunset shown.

Time moves on very quickly! Is there something in your personal or business life which you can make a difference in before another sunset happens?

Stop the Fear and Bring Inspiration

Do you want inspiration to get out of your fear of performing in front of people or feel that there is something bigger than yourself?  Lil Jaxe is a 13 year old who stutters. He has been bullied by teachers and other children at camp and school.  He transforms himself into a rapper who can inspire you to get you out of your fear of performing and speaking out.

This interview by Eric Alper of Lil Jaxe was done at the 140 Character Conference in New York City on June 20, 2012.  Lil Jaxe stutters during the interview with Eric Alper but transforms himself to a rapping sensation who can captivate your attention for his cause.  He has a number of videos on YouTube where he shows the world his rapping talent.  His performance shows his energy, enthusiam, and joy in life.

Lil Jaxe has transformed his stuttering and bullying experience to speaking out and rapping to express himself.  He amazed me.  He inspired the thought if you had a fear to go ahead an overcome it and make a mark in this world.

Do you feel the inspiration of Lil Jaxe has affected you in a significant way?

Differences of Opinion

Everyone has their own opinion about this or that!  I will give you two examples and you decide for yourself on what you think!  Isn’t that how we form an opinion by examining something and deciding for ourselves?

The above picture is of a QR code for a photographer which definitely got my attention! Luckily, I wasn’t in a car and instead walking in New York City! :) Now I have heard Chris Brogan talk about QR codes on billboards and hoping that they weren’t for a car insurance company. Now I didn’t scan this QR code in on my mobile device either. In the lower corner of the QR code, it shows photography by Kenneth Willardt and signed in the bottom right corner. How effective is this QR code use? What if everyone used their own QR code on a billboard?

Here is a picture of Chris Brogan giving his keynote at the Silverpop Conference 2012 where he talks about QR codes and how there are dumb questions! He talked about a lot of interesting things to include e-mail systems, QR codes, growing bigger ears with listening tools such as Tracker, Radian6, and Spiral16. He said that it was the first time talking about his new book which he had been working on which has the impact theory in it.

Here is Marty Coleman at Blogworld and New Media Expo New York 2012. He is known on twitter as @thenapkindad. He gave a presentation on “Overcoming Content Procrastination Start to Finish”. He draws art on napkins. He showed us his art that said, “Asking dumb questions is easier than correcting dumb mistakes”.

My point is that you get conflicting ideas but you have to process the ideas and decide your own thoughts.  By the way, I was very impressed with both Chris Brogan’s and Marty Coleman’s presentations and respect them for their opinions.

My question for you is: Should the photographer asked if it was dumb to use a QR code on the streets of New York City? :)

Actions Echoed

What if something you did influenced someone for a day or even a lifetime?  One action, just one action can take someone to a place where they would have never gotten to without what you did!

A kind word, smile, or gesture took you to a place which bought happiness back to you.  In turn, you felt better and gave a kind word, smile, or gesture which fired you up!  With compounding interest, you influenced more than your imagination!  Wow!  Possible?  You probably have them happen to you often. Absolutely!  :)

Yesterday, I went to the doctor.  While I waited, another patient was called quickly and bought into to see the doctor after their arrival.  Do you know what she did?  She went to the receptionist and told her how their office always delivered exceptional service.  A smile came to the receptionist face and a thank you.  My thoughts were that my doctor who referred me sent me to a great place!  Positive feedback echoes and goes beyond the original target.

Yesterday in talking to the youth director at church, she told me how the money that they raised changed kids lives for a lifetime.  The kids make and sell the product to earn money for a youth conference.  They go to the conference and the impact was so fundamentally powerful.  They come away changed forever.  I had bought their product and showed support.  I appreciated the fact that I got to be a part of making lives better for the community.  The youth director was proud too.  The actions echoed!

There are other actions in my life that I can think of which echoed.  Do you have actions which are echoed?
